Job description

The designer will be responsible for carrying out architectural lighting design projects. Based on instructions provided by management, the latter will have to design the devices, coordinate the production of prototypes, tests, as well as all the required documentation, while respecting quality standards and the work schedule. The incumbent will be responsible for :

  • write the project specifications according to management's requests ;

  • research and interpret technical information regarding components, materials and

    manufacturing processes ;

  • plan the lighting installation sequences according to the standards in force ;

  • design parts and assemblies of lighting fixtures and their components using Autodesk

    Inventor software ;

  • list the components necessary for the production of the products (BOM) ;

  • establish the sequence of operations relating to manufacturing processes ;

  • produce manufacturing drawings for mechanical parts ;

  • make prototypes ;

  • produce technical data sheets and assembly drawings for production ;

  • provide technical support to the production department and to the various stakeholders

    involved ;

  • contribute to the company's research and development activities ;

  • update drawings and component lists ;

  • record and interpret measurements ;

  • determine dimensional tolerances ;

  • diagram electrical connections and circuits ;

  • complete the documentation associated with the work ;

  • attend design team meetings ;

  • produce lists of components (BOM) during sales order processing ;

  • perform all other related tasks that may help with the completion of projects ;

  • participate in the daily processing of orders for customers ;


qualifications required

  • DEC in mechanical engineering, industrial design or a bachelor's degree in industrial

    design, environmental design or equivalent.

  • Proactivity, Interpersonal skills, Autonomy.

  • 3 years minimum as a designer / industrial designer in a lighting product manufacturing

    company. Experience deemed equivalent will also be considered.
